About This Market
Al Zuckerman- Query letter that is no more than one page.
Daniel Lazar- Queries by email or regular mail with SASE. (Email is usually faster, but either is fine.) Please include the first 5 pages of your manuscript. If you email: a) NO attachments; b) if you copy me and every other agent in the industry, save us the time. Politely reject yourself. My response time is 1 minute to several weeks.
Jodi Reamer- first 10 pages of your manuscript (or until the end of that chapter) along with your query letter.
Rebecca Sherman-Snail mail submissions should include a cover letter and a sample chapter (no longer than 10 pages) with SASE. Email submissions should not include attachments--because viruses are scary. Please include one entire text for picture book submissions and sample illustrations or a link to an online portfolio or a dummy. Please be patient as I consider your work. My response time varies, but I will attend to your submission as soon as possible.
Maya Rock- email a query letter and first page in the body of the email.
Josh Getzler- Email only please. Query Letter plus 5 or so pages. (If a chapter is 6, go for it!) Synopsis is not necessary.
Ken Wright: Submissions by email and regular mail (with SASE, please) are okay. For nonfiction, please send a query letter and a brief synopsis. For fiction, please provide a query letter, a brief synopsis, and the first 20 or so pages of the manuscript. No screenplays.
BE SURE TO MANUALLY ADDRESS YOUR QUERY LETTER TO THE SPECIFIC AGENT YOU ARE TARGETING. EACH AGENT HAS DIFFERENT SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES AND AREAS OF INTEREST.
