Rated the number one literary agency in juvenile sales for 2007 in Publisher's Marketplace

Andrea Brown: non-fiction, fiction, children's and YA

Laura Rennert: children's books, from picture books to young adult, graphic novels, fiction and nonfiction, literary fiction, crossover fiction (works that come out in the YA market and cross into the adult market, or vice versa), mysteries and thrillers, and narrative nonfiction

Caryn Wiseman: childrens' books only- young adult and middle-grade fiction and non-fiction, chapter books, and picture books.

Jennifer Rofe: children's fiction projects only, from picture books through young adult, particularly interested in literary, multicultural, offbeat, paranormal, and commercial-with-heart material

Kelly Sonnack: children's literature (picture books, middle grade, young adult, and graphic novels). In picture books and middle grade fiction- humor ad stories that stretch a young reader's imagination, and an authentic voice. Young adult- character-driven stories with heart. Also looking for non-fiction for children. Not accepting unsolicited submissions in adult fiction or adult non-fiction.

Jamie Weiss Chilton: childrens' books only- teen novels, middle grade fiction, chapter books, picture books, narrative nonfiction, literary fiction with intense emotional content (character-driven, not issue-driven plots); smart thrillers and mysteries; science fiction; surreal stories and magical realism; sweet, funny, quirky chapter books and picture books.

Jennifer Laughran: YA and middle grade realistic fiction, science fiction, mystery, adventure and humor. NOT looking for picture books, early readers, non-fiction, adult fiction, high fantasy, religious stories, or stories about talking animals.

Jennifer Mattson: children's books- picture books, easy reader manuscripts in the deadpan tradition of Arnold Lobel. Fables and folktales tend not to be for her. For YA-alternate realities, magical realism, and steam-punk

Mary Kole: Mary is only considering young adult and middle grade novels and truly exceptional picturebooks. She's seeking fresh, unique voices and idiosyncratic characters who, by book's end, she knows like a friend. Her favorite stories are character-driven but well-plotted... a mix of fast pacing, emotional resonance and beautiful writing. Boy books, girl books, first person, third person, it doesn't matter... she's looking for a literary spark with commercial appeal. While she's not interested in high fantasy, science fiction, thrillers or horror, she would love to consider realistic/contemporary, urban fantasy and fantasy/adventure, historical, paranormal and mystery manuscripts. One of her favorite genres is magical realism: a story set firmly in our world, only with a twist—magic, danger or something that turns "reality" on its ear—to make things more interesting.

I feel that Andrea Brown Agency is a very snobblsh "club" . Any author who is not previously published would never survive here. They make a point of saying that you should not send to more than one agent, as they read all , and are in agreement ! Seriously, maybe one agent might like your book, while another may not! It doesnt' hurt to submit to more than one. They are a turn off . -- amyisgro, 09-26-2009
