BE SURE TO MANUALLY ADDRESS YOUR QUERY LETTER TO THE SPECIFIC AGENT YOU ARE TARGETING. EACH HAS DIFFERENT SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS. SEE BELOW:

For Laney Katz Becker: If it's fiction and you want to send along the first 20-30 pages, that's fine. Don't forget the SASE and double space everything!

For Jeff Kleinman: Query letter with SASE.

For Scott Hoffman and Celeste Fine: Not accepting queries or Unsolicited MSS at this time.

For Paige Wheeler: Only accepts queries via email.

For Erin C. Niumata: Your query letter should include your name and contact information, the date, the type of project (genre), the word count, a brief summary of the project, if any editors have seen the info, a bit of personal information about yourself (books published, MFA, articles written, etc.), and a full synopsis and the first 5 pages of text. If you have sold previously, I'd like sales information about your books.

For Rachel Vater: send a query letter with short synopsis and/or first five pages of your material and SASE for reply.

interested in: Jeff: For fiction, I represent the following areas: general, commercial, and literary; including thriller, suspense, legal, and historical. I'm looking for extremely well-written, character-driven books that make me absolutely fall in love with the characters and their world.

Paige: Fiction: All commercial fiction and Upscale (think book club) fiction as well as women's fiction, romance (all types), mystery, thrillers, psychological suspense, and some young adult. *Only accepts queries via EMAIL.

Laney: Fiction: Literary, commercial, mainstream, thrillers, Jewish-themed fiction...Character-driven novels and novels with a great voice are also likely to get my attention. Fiction that touches on women/family issues is also a fave. I've also been known to fall hard for chick-lit, mommy-lit, and YA but it doesn't happen often, so you may want to think twice about sending it my way.

Erin: Fiction: commercial women's fiction, romance (no supernatural) both contemporary and historical, romantic comedies, historical fiction, psychological thrillers, suspense, humor. I love sassy Southern and/or British heroines.

Rachel: Fiction: I handle big mainstream and literary novels for all ages, from middle school readers to young adult to adult. I also represent fantasy novels, especially those that transcend the fantasy genre (like urban fantasy, women's fiction with paranormal elements, YA fantasy, and big commercial novels with a magical twist). For YA and younger readers, I'm open to everything -- sweet love stories, funny mysteries, scary thrillers, high concept urban fantasy, well-researched historical novels, and mainstream edgy or glam... so long as the voice feels authentic and speaks to social pressures and desires that younger readers can relate to. For mainstream adult novels, I love character-driven stories with a great hook and beautiful writing -- or anything that makes me laugh.

client list: Jon Clinch's FINN, Robert Hicks's THE WIDOW OF THE SOUTH, Ron McLarty's THE MEMORY OF RUNNING, Jim Beaver's LIFE'S THAT WAY, Will Lavender's OBEDIENCE, Esther Blum's EAT, DRINK, AND BE GORGEOUS, Mark Del Franco's UNQUIET DREAMS
